Calling for rights by celebrating death.
I'm not sure what to make of this rally, promoted by Reuters stringer Mohamed Abdallah. These people are seriously using a man who was directly responsible for the murder of countless Israeli citizens as an example of what extending the rights of the physically disabled should look like? I'm amazed, as always.
Of course, the fact that these people would receive precisely zero attention without the assistance of their wire service accomplice is probably worth a mention. So if Reuters would like to explain how promoting terrorism somehow falls under their "news reporting" functions, I'm all ears.
A man holds up a poster of assassinated Palestinian leader Ahmed Yassin during a rally organised to commemorate him and to call for the rights of those who are born with physical disabilities, as well as those who have become disabled through war or accidents, outside the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) office in Khartoum March 22, 2011. Yassin, who was killed in 2004, was a quadriplegic who was nearly blind and had used a wheelchair for most of his life. The poster reads: "They killed you despite the fact that you were disabled".
