Mourning a Man Named Jihad

Scripted.

It's been a while since I've had a chance to poke fun at some crocodile tears, but this is simply an opportunity too good to pass up.

Seeing the photo above, one can't help but wonder:—Is this man, who named his son "Holy War," really surprised by the fact that his son died as a result of violence? Or is it more likely, based on the camera watching ever so carefully over his shoulder, that he's acting based on a (very tired) script?

Aside from that, I find it very amusing that our esteemed wire service colleagues (other than the AP, for once) aren't making a point to ask what exactly it was Jihad and his two little buddies were doing that attracted the Israeli Army's attention... Instead of mindlessly focusing on said crocodile tears.

Good to see news gatherers doing their best to ignore what's news.
