Another Democrat Skates

Change you can... line your pockets with.

Mike Easley (L), the former Democratic governor of North Carolina, has just been declared guilty and promptly fined $1,000 for "campaign violations," which in the Court's understanding appears to be limited to one or two free helicopter rides given to the Governor by overzealous supporters.

Of course, the fact that Mike Easley also managed to line up for his wife a six-figure salary at a government job while he was acting in his capacity as Governor of North Carolina (which would generally be called embezzlement were you or I to try it) doesn't seem to have caused the court one single iota of consternation.

Funny, I didn't think the Constitution outlined a totally different set of rules for our "leaders" to follow, but this seems to be increasingly becoming a fact.

RALEIGH, N.C. – Former North Carolina Gov. Mike Easley agreed to pay a $1,000 fine Tuesday for a single campaign finance violation, ending investigations by state and federal prosecutors who spent more than a year combing through his professional and personal life.

Easley, a former prosecutor who served as governor from 2001 to 2009, entered an Alford plea in Wake County court, which means he acknowledged the state's evidence stemming from a 2006 helicopter trip could result in a conviction without having to admit any guilt. Prosecutors said the state plea also ends a federal probe that started in February 2009, a month after the Democrat left office due to term limits.

Update: In case you were wondering, this is certainly not limited to North Carolina.

We have also just seen another Dem candidate concede the race.  That makes our Tea Party Revolution equal to 63.

Now, we need to get Joe Miller in AK, and figure out ways to toss Pelosi and Reed from their positions.

Those areas just may be too far gone and the mass-area-cleansing agent will need to be deployed.
