Leave it to the "mainstream" media to find new ways of making the Soviet media of old look so downright conservative in their glowing coverage of dictators past. Based on the loving photos I'm seeing from the services today, I'm guessing that every photojournalist in the country was just pining for an invite to the party.
I can only imagine what the press treatment of George W. Bush would have been if President "Big Oil" hosted a $35,000 a plate fundraiser and tried calling it "a birthday party." To suggest that it would put the shrieking banshees of Ireland to shame would be the understatement of the century.
