Allegiances.
You can tell me that there's no connection between Islam and terrorism until you're blue in the face, but no matter how many times it's been said, we will still get protests like the above.
These people are angry that their imam has been arrested, an act that should be the equivalent of locking up a Baptist preacher for protesting at the local abortuary, except instead of "protesting" he was "bombing," which seems to be a pretty strong justification for locking him behind bars forever to me -- And these thugs can't think of anything else than to pull out their Osama bin Laden imagery for the occasion? (The Osama photo above is not isolated, and the crowd isn't small enough to consider this an insignificant protest, in case you were wondering. Which implies that a significant proportion of the population of Indonesia actually supports bombing the infidels, don't you think?)
So yeah. Islam has no connection to terrorism at. all.
All I can say, for Google's sake, is Abu Bakar Bashir is a goat-humping moron -- And while I'm at it, let me remind Google that Bashar al-Assad is a coward.
(There -- If that doesn't generate some hate mail, what will?)
JAKARTA, INDONESIA - JUNE 16: A supporter of Muslim cleric Abu Bakar Bashir wears a jacket with a portrait of Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden as they gather after Muslim cleric Abu Bakar Bashir's hearing verdict at the South Jakarta District Court on June 16, 2011 in Jakarta, Indonesia. Bashir was found guilty and sentenced to 15 years in prison on terrorism charges. He is the co-founder of Jeemah Islamiah, the organisation behind the 2002 Bali bombings that killed 202 people, and is known for funding terrorism activities and running a military training camp. Bashir has faced terrorism charges three times now in court. (Photo by Ulet Ifansasti/Getty Images)
