War depicted in shades of red and blue.
One of our enterprising photojournalists in Afghanistan filed a series of 3d wire photographs out of the region this morning, most likely taken with one of the electronic gadgets du jour. Of course, far be it from me to point out that wire news services are usually way behind the times -- because this serves as a perfect case in point, given that the much-hyped 3D technology has proven itself to be nothing more than a marketing buzzword.
And a massive headache.
So anyway, good job to the photo news wires for heartily embracing yesteryear's fashion once again. Just like with bell-bottoms and patchouli, the sooner this fad dies, the better.

Taliban militants are waging a nine-year insurgency against 140,000 international troops stationed in Afghanistan.
