WHOA!!!

Side by side, these are the two coolest news photos I've seen hit the wires in a long time.

Pakistani soldiers prepare to fire an anti-tank gun during a battle between Pakistani security forces and Taliban in the South Waziristan region in this image taken from a video grab released by the Pakistani military on October 21, 2009. Pakistani helicopter gunships attacked Taliban bases near the Afghan border on October 21, 2009 as the army urged NATO forces to seal the frontier to stem cross-border movement of militants. Pakistani forces launched an offensive to wrest control of the lawless South Waziristan region on October 17, 2009 after militants rocked the country with a string of bomb and suicide attacks in recent weeks, killing more than 150 people. REUTERS/Pakistan Government/Handout via Reuters TV (PAKISTAN CONFLICT POLITICS MILITARY) FOR EDITORIAL USE ONLY. NOT FOR SALE FOR MARKETING OR ADVERTISING CAMPAIGNS

(Sure, they're frame grabs from a video. Guess that makes this the first time I've really been impressed by a videographer's work on the wires. Therefore, my hat's off to the anonymous stringer who pulled this off for Pakistan's official press agency!)
