Democrats Damage National Security

Once again, a Democrat in Congress has sacrificed our good relationships with foreign nations, all for a mere attempt at scoring political points with a sound bite.

A senior U.S. lawmaker said Thursday that unmanned CIA Predator aircraft operating in Pakistan are flown from an airbase inside that country, a revelation likely to embarrass the Pakistani government and complicate its counterterrorism collaboration with the United States.

The disclosure by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), the chairwoman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, marked the first time a U.S. official had publicly commented on where the Predator aircraft patrolling Pakistan take off and land.

At a hearing, Feinstein expressed surprise at Pakistani opposition to the ongoing campaign of Predator-launched CIA missile strikes against Al Qaeda targets along Pakistan's northwest border.

"As I understand it, these are flown out of a Pakistani base," she said of the planes.

This will severely damage our relationship with Pakistan, as the hardline Islamists amongst their population are bitterly opposed to allowing Americans to operate from Muslim nations. It will have a similar impact on other Islamic nations, no doubt. Dubai. Saudi Arabia. Iraq.

Considering that idiotic comments like this will lead to war, it's amazing that anyone would think that the Democratic Party leads to a more peaceful world.

Quite the contrary. The President has vehemently stated he will continue the war on terror and take it to the next level.

Imagine had this been a Republican. Would have been roasted in the news. Feinstein? Eh, a slip of the lip, no biggie. Media tells us there is nothing to see.

More than likely, these kinds of comments were done on purpose. She knew what she was saying.

"The sole purpose was to get the military in trouble, force us to withdraw (their ultimate goal everywhere) and quit throwing around our hegemony like it was something to be proud of.

We must get back to the basics of giving these terrorists whatever they ask for. It has worked time and time again in the MidEast and with Somalia, and with certain S. American dictators -- err, friends.

By having us go after goat-herders, we are losing our friends in Europe (I mean of course USSR, China, France and Cuba. I can't say Nazi-Germany anymore, dang it. But that was also our fault)."
