Somehow, I have a feeling that had the roles in this particular fight [moderate warning] been reversed, Reuters would have picked a much harsher word than "scuffle" to describe it:
A Jewish settler touches his head after he was injured during scuffles with Palestinians at a house in the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood of East Jerusalem December 1, 2009. In East Jerusalem, scuffles erupted between Jewish settlers and Palestinians as the settlers cleaned a part of the house an Israeli court awarded them after a land ownership dispute. Of course, as we all know, it's only a "hate" crime when those dastardly radical Israeli settlers do it, rampaging and attacking all over the countryside, as only radical Israeli settlers have long been known to do. (Yes, Virginia, I'm being facetious.)
Oh, and for the record, the Associated Press isn't exactly playing fair here, either, describing the whole situation thusly:
A Palestinian woman reacts as she carries a toddler, while Jewish settlers move out the belongings of a Palestinian family from a house in the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah, Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009. In an unrest Tuesday, a Jewish family took over a house in an Arab neighborhood of east Jerusalem, sparking a protest by rock-throwing Palestinians and a few Israeli and foreign activists who joined them, police said. One of the family members was lightly injured in the head when a protester hit him with a metal bar, and police arrested five people. Both sides claim ownership of the building. What, you mean a metal bar like this?
Good thing it was a peaceful metal bar, carried by an innocent, peace-loving Protester of Peace.
Otherwise, someone might've gotten hurt.
Update: Thanks to Soccer Dad for the link! Or I should say, the links. Plural, because he's ninja like that!

That is a lot of blood for a scuffle.
We need peace to happen soon!
OH My GOD!!!! THAT was the result of a scuffle?? Somone got their head bashed in with that amount of blood.
SHEESH.
I like the UN's take on this:
So, what? THe UN would rather these "disputes" be settled in more traditional ways? Israel already did that but the UN and the Arab world wants their land back after getting their butts kicked over their .... scuffles... with Israel.
And Israel gave much of that land back on their own accord. No place else in history, except in USA wars, has a nation given land back after winning it in wars.
