Leadership™

This is a word completely foreign to large portions of the Republican Party:

“We don't have plans to call Congress into session -- it won't make a difference if Democratic leaders are unwilling to bring up a bill for an up-down vote,” said White House spokesman Tony Fratto.

This is how you do politics, gentlemen.
Hey dummy:—America knows it won't make a difference. We're not asking for you to call the Congress up because we expected as much.

What such a move does do, you genius, is help illustrate in a very bold manner that the Democratic party is completely bereft of ideas when it comes to solving our energy crisis. Which would be a rather handy illustration to make for the American people, considering that it's an election year and all.

But hey, why bother participating in election-year politics?

It's not like the RNC actually wants to win this one.

Yeesh.

I agree Brian. The President should have taken the high ground and make the "politics" out of this making a show that to him this is an important issue.

He could get up in front of the cameras, pound his fist, and and demand that the dims open up drilling for the children.

This is what I don't understand about our Repubs since 1994. They have failed to understand politics. The Dims came out and overly played politics to the hilt and won all of their points even if they were wrong and illegal. Repubs lost their spines.
