And to think that we here in America are perfectly satisfied by shouting at a television set when we're upset at an umpire's bad call:

Indian cricket fans burn effigies of the Australian cricket team and umpires Steve Bucknor and Mark Benson during a protest in Jammu January 7, 2008. India has reacted with anger and disappointment at the standard of umpiring in Australia second test victory, with the nation's greatest all-rounder Kapil Dev accusing the hosts of failing to show a sporting spirit. Is there anything that the Religion of the Perpetually Outraged (also known as "Ye Olde Sore Losers") will not take to the streets over?

Hmm... perhaps your outrage at Muslims is misdirected. This is India, which is a majority HINDU country. Now, you probably thought to yourself, given that these pictures were taken in Kashmir, these people are probably Muslim. Well, they were taken in Jammu, which is a majority Hindu district within Kashmir. Thus, the probablity that these individuals are Hindu and NOT Muslim is pretty great. Ah, but I know what happened, your blind hatred of Muslims got in the way of reality.

If you want to write about the rest of the world perhaps you should learn more about it first!

JZ,

You might be right, but there's one group in Kashmir that has a particular tendency to burn things more often than other groups...

I do know a thing or two about Kashmir, by the way. ;)

Brian
