"Muhammed Bear"

It's all the rage! (Many thanks to Rusty Shackleford for the graphic.)

Doesn't quite have the same ring as Teddy Bear, but what the hey? Apparently, it's enough to get one 40 lashes in Sudan (Not Syria—thanks for the correction, EMTZAlex!), even if the name was chosen by taking a poll of elementary-school students:

A British primary school teacher arrested in Sudan faces up to 40 lashes for blasphemy after letting her class of 7-year-olds name a teddy bear Muhammad.

Gillian Gibbons, a 54-year-old mother of two from Liverpool, was arrested at her lodgings at Khartoum's Unity High School yesterday, accused of insulting the Prophet of Islam.

Her colleagues said that they feared for her safety after reports that groups of young men had gathered outside the Khartoum police station where she was taken and were shouting death threats.

From the Pied Piper of Haraam

There's a little bear
Like I hope you've never seen before
Who's a lot of fun, oh dear
Children everywhere,
Grow to love him more and more, but it’s not the fastest growing religion anymore
He's was the number one, excepting the real Muhammad and Allah, praise him
There's a million stories to be told
Of the things that he's done!
And he's gonna share them all with you
So come along

Oh Muhammad, Muhammad the Bear
Everyone despise his name, or else die in shame
Muhammad, Muhammad the Bear
Everyone come and join
In all of his games, unless you’re female

There is Badger Bill
Lily Tiger-Lily, I assume because she is covered too,
And a whole lot more
They are Muhammad's friends
And they're waiting here for you
So unlock the door but don’t you dare remove that veil
There's a magic land not far away
And they call it Sudan
Where you'll meet a little teddy bear in chains
And if you are good and have a thick skin, you might just live to tell the tale again

Oh Muhammad, Muhammad the Bear
Everyone despise his name, or else die in shame
Muhammad, Muhammad the Bear
Everyone come and join
In all of his pain

This is just one more straw that is building to break the camel's back. I know that all Muslims are not totally nuts, but it is becoming much harder for me to be tolerant of this BS. Enough Muslim BS. It is time for the sane Muslims to stand up and condemn radical Islam.
I will start first with myself and my world: I condemn the radical right and radical left here in America. I condemn the radical Christians. Enough us vs. them. Time to love each other.
Thanks for letting me vent. Ed
PS. Cute bear.

Not finding the sentencing of a teacher to prison for 15 days and subsequent deportation over the most ridiculous of reasons sufficient enough, hundreds of people (the al-Guardian puts the number at 10,000), stirred up by a Muslim cleric, marched through Khartoum after Friday prayers denouncing what they termed a "lenient verdict" against the British teacher for insulting Islam - demanding for her to be shot. All over allowing her students to name a teddy bear, Mohammed:Sheikh Abdul Jalil Karuri, a leading cleric, whipped up a crowd attending at the city's Martyr's Mosque by telling them Gillian Gibbons had deliberately named her class's teddy bear Mohammed "with the intention of insulting Islam." Later the protestors joined other worshippers to congregate in the centre of...

Ed, where do you find those radical Christians you speak of and how many terrorist attacks have they committed in your lifetime???

PC-ness just isn't going to get any of us anywhere on this mess brought upon us all by radical Islam. It's damned time to label a terrorist a terrorist, an Islamist for what he or she is - a nut, and for secular-minded Muslims to speak out. All of us should stop making excuses for bad behavior and a sick ideology. Muslims need to get over their BS sensitivities and join the 21st Century.
