Here's an experiment for you to try at home: Build a large extension to your house. But, rather than following the proper procedures for doing so, try doing it without getting local building permits. Also, be sure that it extends well into your neighbour's property.

Why, then, does Reuters expect that we force the Jerusalem City Council into ignoring all semblance of law? It's always sad to see a locality come in and raze a structure which was not built legally, but it is the underlying fact that the law was broken which has brought that action about.
