The DNC is deeply saddened

... but Evangelicals are, after all, generally of the opinion that you love the sinner, but hate the sin. I'm sure there was plenty of weeping and gnashing of teeth in the halls of DNC National Headquarters (along with their compatriots at the New York Slimes) when they discovered that their cleverly coordinated attack on the Republican party is falling apart.

...in dozens of interviews here in southeastern Virginia, a conservative Christian stronghold that is a battleground in races for the House and Senate, many said the episode only reinforced their reasons to vote for their two Republican incumbents in neck-and-neck re-election fights, Representative Thelma Drake and Senator George Allen.

...Most of the evangelical Christians interviewed said that so far they saw Mr. Foley’s behavior as a matter of personal morality, not institutional dysfunction.

For the record, I'm from the Tidewater region, and it's one of the most conservative areas in the nation. If Foleygate doesn't have any traction there, it's truly doomed everywhere else.
