There's no doubt that these journalists have known the identities of this Al-Aqsa cell for quite a long time. Heck, Emilio was even kidnapped by them, yet remained in the area. Does that tell you anything?
Update: The AP has added a second glowing series to its portfolio. One wonders if they're charging Al-Aqsa for their professional portraiture services:

Abu Qassam, of course, is a nom de guerre, not to be confused with an actual identity. His continued avowal to destroy Israel just might have something to do with his reluctance to identify himself. I suppose that this is Mohammed Ballas the terror supporter's preferred method of being "fair and balanced"—After presenting someone who pretends to stop killing Jews, he felt compelled to show someone who still openly aids and abets Israel's destruction. You've gotta admire that good ol' impartiality, huh?

I hate to admit it, but I certainly like the terrorists in the al Aqsa martyr's brigades better than the terrorists in Hamas or al Qaeda in Palestine. Apparently, so does the AP....

That guy on the couch sure looks like the guy with the gun in the COWARD post you first linked to.
Which would only heighten the confirmation that these guys are overly embedded.
I know they would say that they have to win their trust in order to report on their actions, but... how many times have you seen a wildlife documentary where the "reporter" is embedded within the pack of predators? VERY VERY FEW. I can only think of a very small number. The latest is where they guy took numerous approaches before a lion pack would tolerate his presence. But still, you knew that those lions would turn on that guy in a split second if they felt any inkling of "not right" from him.
Sad to say, these reporters refuse to recognize the same from the people they report on.

You're absolutely right—there are a number of faces in this series that are [i]very[/i] familiar to me. Unfortunately, I haven't had the time to go back into the archives and match them all up yet. I didn't notice the guy on the couch, though. Good job on finding that!
I definitely question the wisdom of allowing reporters to befriend guerilla forces. Nothing good can come out of that, and no editor worth his salt should allow stories published and pushed by such insurgents to be printed in any news organisation of record.
