Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad(L) shakes hands with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov(R) in front of Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki(C) in Tehran. Russia on Wednesday bluntly told the United States it sees no security threat from Iranian ballistic missiles and "does not understand" how this could justify a planned US defence system in Europe.(AFP/Atta Kenare)
Very interesting--FM Lavrov looks to be considerably less than pleased to be shaking Mad-abby-jab's hand.
Lavrov looks like he's choking down a rat sandwich. Still, he's Putin's guy, and if Putin's going to be friends with Iran, he's going to have to mash paws with the likes of Mahmoud.

are you sure this is not el baradei, they look very similar?
Yeah, when I think "respectable & trusted ally" the altruistic nation of Russia pops right in there...after Britain, Australia, Israel, Japan, Italy, Madagascar, etc.
I bet if we asked them if a defense buildup was justified during the Cold War, you'd get a similar response. Jerks.
